# About the Institute

Who We Are

The Ben Yeshoua Institute is a non-profit research organization dedicated to the documentation and preservation of intangible cultural heritage. Founded by scholars and cultural heritage professionals, we operate at the intersection of academic research, community engagement, and archival science.

Our name honors the memory of scholars who devoted their lives to preserving cultural traditions, embodying our commitment to rigorous documentation and respectful transmission of living heritage.

Our Approach

We conduct field missions, research programs, and ethnographic documentation operations that result in high-quality audiovisual productions and comprehensive archives. Every project is developed in close collaboration with communities, respecting their ownership of cultural knowledge while creating lasting records.

Our work is grounded in scientific methodology and adheres to national and international standards for cultural heritage preservation. We develop databases, cataloging standards, and conservation systems that ensure the longevity and accessibility of documented materials.
